Mailerlite is a terrible company

In my opinion Mailerlite is a terrible company and they have gotten way worse since late 2023. It’s clear they don’t care at all about you.

Anyway, I’d been with MailerLite since August 2021 on their free account.

If you don’t already know, many companies get a Delaware corporation to avoid certain taxes. Not that I have a problem with that, just saying.

Anyway, Mailierlite has never been a great great site, but it did what I needed it to do for the most part by sending out emails to the people on my list and when I published articles on WordPress, that too would go out to my list. The site never loaded fast, and would take forever in certain spots that frustrated me to no end. It also was NOT intuitive, so I did complain the odd time, but just accepted that it wasn’t a great great site and they were never going to fix it, because they weren’t smart enough to, or didn’t care.

Then in around October or November of 2023 they announced they were redoing their entire platform. I already knew why they were doing this, but I won’t get into that here. They said we were going to have to move EVERYTHING over ourselves to the new platform, but some things would be done for us when we clicked on buttons.

My website coder and I literally lost 3 weeks of our LIVES trying to get everything moved over. Their instructions were horrific and whoever was “helping” us couldn’t follow what we were saying a lot of the time.

We had to manually redo our templates because they did NOT allow them to be moved over. sigh

We FINALLY got everything moved over, set it all up, and turned on for January 2024.

Note: I don’t go into mailerlite often at all. I had the emails set up and I had no need to go into my account because i wasn’t adding new emails all the time. I’m not a marketer nor am I selling anything, I was using it to provide information to my list. The best feature was the pushing of my articles from my site to the list.

I was now paying $10 per month and was happy to since I had the free version for all those other years and I felt they deserved it.

In June or July of 2024 someone said to me that they hadn’t received any emails from my list lately.

We go in and are SHOCKED to see that my RSS feed and campaign have been turned off.

This is when the nightmare began.

After fighting with them for months with them taking NO responsibility for anything and blaming us for the RSS feed (I only figured out afterward that even if we didn’t put /feed because my website coder said it should work without that), you can’t even move to the next part of setting it up if that’s NOT in there, so obviously we did put it in there, because we put it in one of the other RSS feeds too and everything WAS turned on when we left it.

Even while we were clicking around in the backend, Mailerlite would make a copy of one of my campaigns right in front of my face – WOW

The time we were wasting was stressing me out to NO END.

Then Mailerlite refused to refund me for the 6 months the RSS feed and campaign was turned off, and I’m a non profit, so I can’t afford to fish out $60 for something THAT IS NOT WORKING, but even if I had the money, it’s the principle of the matter.

Then when they finally gave me one month’s refund out of the 6 months, they removed me from the paid account so the RSS feed wouldn’t work, and THEN  acted like I asked them to do that and I should have know that it would remove me from the paid version.

THAT’S NOT WHAT A REFUND MEANS YOU FUCKING MORONS.

I couldn’t tell if they were just very low IQ, or were fucking with me. You can decide.

I didn’t even know that I was removed from the paid version for another couple of months because at NO TIME did I get an email or was I notified of this change. Who would even think that a company giving you a refund for only one month due to THEIR TERRIBLE SOFTWARE means they are removing you from the plan you were on.

I was FURIOUS at their low IQness, how they harmed my autoresponder list twice, and wasted probably around 2 months of our lives because remember, we already spent 3 weeks the first time  setting it up, then trying to figure out what was going on when their software removed our campaigns and RSS feed, and then figuring out what happened when they removed us from the paid version AND all of the back and forth emails that went NOWHERE. They don’t even understand English much of the time.

So I didn’t pay anything after that just letting my list sit there not receiving anything. I was so upset and ashamed.

Then in November 2024 because they had a good sale, I paid for a year and was hoping this time things would be ok, but then we found bug after bug and I had to report them all.

We literally wasted  MORE of our time for the entire 3 months finding more bugs and reporting them while they argued saying there’s no bugs and then they did NOTHING to fix them.

My campaign was turned off AGAIN and they once again acted like we went in and turned it off.

They also removed my email addresses so I wouldn’t get email notifications of new signups, unsubs, and so on. AGAIN they claimed they don’t do that. THEN HOW DID IT GET REMOVED??? In the end I figured out that when we moved from the old version to their new version, that email address that should tell me when people sign up, unsub, how many subs per week or month, etc. was REMOVED. It didn’t get carried over.

They are such a TERRIBLE low IQ COMPANY!

Even at the time I first started writing this article/review of Mailerlite, I went in to download my subs and there’s ANOTHER bug with that too. I am not going to list EVERY bug Mailerlite has, but I’ll give you a rough count of at least 15-20 MAJOR bugs that they refuse to acknowledge, let alone fix!

When I emailed a manager, within 2 days as of February 20, 2025) they terminated my account lying and saying I was spamming. Yeh right. I had read on Trust Pilot that they did the same thing to other customers and they also didn’t spam.

Spammers don’t do reviews, NOR would they spend months complaining about all of the company’s bugs. Are you kidding me???

Here’s the list of terrible complaints about MailerLite. I took a quick look. I can see that all of the 5 star reviews are from scammers who only have 1, maximum 2 reviews.

And I’m not sure they got their money backbecause just like me, some also paid for a year upfront. I did get my money back, but I needed the autoresponder software, NOT my money back.

One other stupid thing they did after they created their new HORRIFIC system, they created a community, so I thought I’d be able to talk to other users to get help or bitch with them, but NO, it’s just a socializing area, there’s NO HELP at all whatsoever!!! Again, sheer STUPIDITY.

So this is my review proving that Mailerlite is a terrible company. Of course this is my opinion, yours may vary.
