Here is my story about what happened with this merchant services company out of the UK. I’m a merchant services agent who unfortunately has to partner up with other agents because they have the bank & processor contacts.
Zee, the CEO, approached me when I was looking for a merchant account for one of my clients.
He filled out my questionnaire that specifically states I will ONLY deal with intelligent people who are tech savvy.
While I certainly don’t profess to be a geek, I know how to use the most basic of software both on my computer & online & I’ve found that many merchant service agents are so low on the intelligence level, that they can’t use them.
Zee & I talked on the phone & my biggest mistake is when I noticed his English wasn’t 100% fluent. Since I don’t like to judge right off the bat & since the conversation went okay, I decided to forge ahead.
I signed his contract & he put me in touch with Sunny saying he was the best agent he has.
Sunny was okay for the first couple of days working really hard on my client’s, so I was happy, but then after around the 3rd or 4th day, I started to notice that his English was getting worse & worse. It is common practice for freelancers in India & the Philippines to get someone who speaks English well to start the conversation, & then later on put someone else in to do the job, so by the time you get the work (assuming you do), you’ve just been duped.
I am in NO WAY saying this is what happened, but I find it very strange that suddenly I could barely understand anything Sunny said. The more this went on, the more time I had to waste by telling him what he said made no logical sense or he would also change what he said from one minute to the next.
I became more & more frustrated, & I admit, this is an issue for me. I can ONLY deal with people who are fluent in English AND have good communication skills. Even native English speakers in the merchant services industry are poor with their communication skills.
I tell everyone this in my pre-screening doc of merchant account agents since most agents are so low on the intelligence scale, it’s hard for me to work with them.
At one point I mentioned to Sunny that I found his English is poor & he stated that he knew, so clearly this wasn’t something new he was hearing.
The following day things got even worse when Sunny had given Zee one of my clients to take care of, & failed to relay to him key information that would have gotten my client a merchant account.
Zee started talking down to me in the e-mail telling me I did something wrong & also putting my client down. Neither my client & I had made any mistakes. I told Sunny I didn’t like the attitude.
Then I started to have more e-mail problems with Zee. He couldn’t find a file in the Dropbox account even though I knew it was there & wasted my time by checking 3 different times.
I told Zee I don’t like wasting my time when something has already been done, & Zee twisted my words by making it seem I don’t like to do work at all. He kept asking me to give him something that was already there & even made a mistake on viewing the wrong website URL for the client.
I decided to talk to Zee on Skype, as I was getting nowhere via e-mail. I spoke to him & honestly, it was my fault that I didn’t just terminate the business relationship right there. I even showed him my screen & how the file was in DropBox. I even had to send him the URL for the site because he was clueless to what or wasn’t on the site & had misinformed the bank so the bank thought my client had no proper website.
I was in the middle of giving Zee an example of the issues I’d been having with Sunny when he switched the subject & never let me finish. He did this often as I noticed it before.
I also learned that Sunny had discussed key information about another client & made a promise to the bank about how much my client was going to process without even discussing it with me.
Zee had also been coming on to me sexually (2-3 times now) & I ignored it, but it made me feel uncomfortable.
We got off the phone & I thought all was fine UNTIL Zee writes me an e-mail saying I need to explain what Sunny is saying. Sunny was now trying to cause problems between Zee & I by telling Zee I said he was giving me attitude. I now had to stop all work to explain myself.
About an hour later I noticed that in an e-mail I was cced on, Zee had accused Sunny of facts that weren’t true & I never said. Again it was my fault that I didn’t just terminate the relationship right then & there, but I was in the middle of trying to get my clients an account.
I had to waste more time correcting Zee & his response was, “Chill.” Didn’t even acknowledge his mistake or say he was going to correct it with Sunny.
I went out of my way to get Zee the URL to the DropBox account because it looked to me like he had the wrong one. I spent more time setting up a Google Drive account to see if that would solve the problem of him not finding the files.
After I did tons of work staying up long past when I should have gone to sleep, I wake up to his e-mail telling me none of the files had been uploaded. I started to get really really upset now. This guy was clearly nuts & had no clue how to utilize a simple DropBox or Google Drive. In fact he ignored my other e-mail asking him if he had tried out the DB URL I had sent him.
I wrote to him asking him to get someone else to show him how to use it & I admit, I was probably condescending & this is exactly why I refuse to deal with such incompetence because I know how I will react. I also told him that I didn’t like being told I didn’t do something when I did. He’d done that at least 3 times now.
The night before I had asked him several times to send me a template & some other key information. He kept telling me he’d send it, but 12 hours later & still nothing.
Then Zee wrote me an e-mail accusing me of not completing a pre-app & getting everything wrong. I had NO IDEA what he was talking about since no pre-app had been done at all for days & I had NOT gotten anything wrong. I had worked so hard the night before, I was livid at his accusations when I got to my desk.
That was the last straw & I decided to call it quits. In my opinion, this guy has some serious issues & it was clear neither he or Sunny were able to communicate in English clearly & truthfully. I told him off, but that doesn’t excuse what he did next.
The next thing I know, Zee proceeds to tell me that he’s going to warn ALL the banks not to touch me & this is why I’m now writing a public review of my experiences. He wrote me back & said, “That’s fine by me!!”
He wouldn’t stop e-mailing me even after I asked him to stop.
I don’t tolerate people spreading lies about me. Zee took absolutely NO responsibility for his actions or mistakes. Sunny at least had admitted he didn’t write proper English, but then he immaturely tried to start a problem between Zee & I.
It’s a shame it came to this & I take full responsibility for jumping into a business relationship with Zee Abbas after I noticed his English wasn’t fluent, although this wasn’t the only issue in the end, it was the majority of the problem that cropped up. My clients & I suffered because of this.

I just received an e-mail from someone claiming to be Richard Ashbrun with a phone number 0800 012 6046.
He claims Zee & Sunny are no longer with the company, but he too speaks broken English, so I don’t believe a word this guy said.
He also says my one little review is killing his business & he’s going to sue me.
I told him to go ahead. I am NOT defaming anyone.
This is my story. I’m allowed to tell my story online. You may have had a wonderful experience with this company & you are welcome to try them out.
I told him not to contact me again. I don’t need these threats. Not a good way to get on my side.
I’m pretty sure one review of his company doesn’t cause a company to lose 90% of their business. This is why I don’t believe whoever this person is. He could even be Zee for all I know as he has the same personality traits that Zee had.
I will keep you updated if he continues to harass & threaten me.
