So I was looking for those companies that can get my ad out to those pages that have parked domains on them. I wanted to essentially go with PPC (pay per click).
One of the parked PPC companies I use, Fabulous, gave me the 3 or 4 they know of. One of them was miva.com
My assistant researched them & I decided to go with Miva.com – BIG mistake.
All was fine until they told me it would take a day or two to authorize my credit card.
I found that very strange, but said fine. I was told I had to enter in my credit card info & put a $25 deposit down & then they would walk me through the system on ads, bidding, etc.
Then instead of getting an e-mail from the original person I spoke to on the phone, I got an e-mail from someone else & his communication skills weren’t very good. He didn’t know the interior of their application, so I had to repeat my question over & over again in order to do what they wanted me to do. He said it was because he was at home & not the office, but I don’t care, if you know your company, you should know the signup & initial deposit process inside & out.
I also had no idea who he was since he didn’t really introduce himself to me as my new account manager for miva.com which is what you should do with all new clients, especially when this new client has already spoken to someone else.
He also didn’t answer all of my questions in my e-mail & nothing irks me more than people who ignore what you ask of them. I had to literally ask him to address my entire e-mail & once again he answered one more question, not the other one.
Finally after sort of understanding how to submit my credit card for the deposit & going for it, I get another e-mail days later from someone else entirely different (that’s 3 people now) saying she is contacting me to answer my question about bidding when I never even had a question about bidding because no one had walked me through their system yet NOR had I even been notified that my account was now set to go on miva.com.
I told her I didn’t know what she was talking about & also started to question why it takes soooo long for a credit card to go through. Remember, at this point I thought I was still waiting for my credit card to authorize since they are sooo inept at communication over there that no one told me my card had already approved the day before or the day before that.
At this point it was starting to become clear to me that the communication over at miva.com was starting to be a problem.
The girl read my e-mail & then ignored it.
I waited all day for a response from her & got nothing back. Finally later on that night I said forget this, if this is how they run their business, I’m going to walk, so I wrote them both & told them to cancel my account & refund me the initial $25 deposit.
The way the whole experience went down was very suspicious, as credit cards authorize on the spot, that’s how merchant accounts work. I even mentioned this in my e-mail to her.
It’s also clear they don’t know how to run their company properly when miva.com gets a new client. There should be a whole system in place as to who says what, when & how so that everything is clear to the client.
The account manager responded to my e-mail all confused why I thought there were problems when we hadn’t even started yet, so I told him.
What was his mature response?
He read the e-mail & ignored it too.
Lovely mature people over at Miva.com
