So this guy owns the site Torontonian.com, & I signed up for it years ago, it must be at least 4 years ago.

It was supposed to be a classified site for the Toronto area, so I used his site’s feature that notifies me whenever a post with the keywords I entered in was created.

I found the car I wanted to buy, but when I went to stop the ads from coming into my inbox, I saw there was no way.

I e-mailed the site & I got no response & 2 years went by.

In fact I think I had 2 keyword searches created, so I was now getting around 4-5 e-mails every month or so, but I would just ignore them.

Then the e-mails started to increase, so I e-mailed again asking for them to REMOVE me from their database.

The site was soooo poorly designed & developed, that there was no way for me to log in, no way to figure out my password, & no way to delete my account.

Finally I got this guy’s contact info from whois, & I called him.

He seemed nice on the phone & said he would e-mail me when he had removed my account.

He mumbled something about no longer running the site or owning it or something, but if he no longer runs it, he should take it down. I hate it when people leave inactive unattended sites up, it hurts the Internet by making it of low quality.

Anyway, I never heard from him again, not by e-mail, nothing.

More e-mails started coming in & it was driving me up the wall, now it was happening on a daily basis.

I called him again, no answer, so I left a message.

He didn’t e-mail me back.

Another week or two went by, I was getting pissed at this point, so finally I told him I was going to report him to Can Spam if he didn’t stop the e-mails from coming to me.

Still no response so, I’ve reported him & he is now on my blog.

What unprofessionalism.
