At first I thought this message board was a really good one with a lot of good information, but after posting on here a few times, I came to the conclusion that the owners & moderators are control freaks, or at least one of them is.

They deleted one of my posts asking why someone’s post was deleted. OMG, I asked a simple question, so they gave me a warning LOL, can you believe that??? And you know why I was warned? Because we shouldn’t DARE question why a post has been deleted. Yup, LOL, that’s what I was told. I continued to use the forum & then today I posted something & 3 people put me down making fun of me (yes, that’s called bullying people, people who are 25, 35, 45 years old are still little babies going around bullying people like they did in high school.)

I doubt they will get reprimanded, because if the owners & moderators are that nasty, that’s why they allow such people on their board. I mean these people like:

XM4243
Crawler
jshel101

have over 400-600 posts, & I’m sure I’m not the only one they bully.

So if you want to be bullied, just go & post on that forum.

In typical fashion, all the bullying came from the Toronto area & also from someone in Calgary.

Toronto has some of the meanest people I’ve ever come across. I knew they were nasty, I just didn’t realize how mean spirited they were until after I moved from there.

  1. I’ve had problems with them as well:

Firstly, they outright banned me for having ‘nathanrdotca’ (they think it promotes my site? fine but I use that username everywhere else w/o a problem), then when they message me (again, when my account was banned), I had no way of replying, then when I replied, they bitched at me for ‘giving them crap, sending them many e-mails etc’. Well what am I supposed to do, send them a carrier pigeon? God. These people come across as power-hungry control freaks.

Oh yeah. When they did change my username, I had no access to the PM system. Guess who complained about that? That’s right – me. And I get in trouble for complaining? How else was that going to be fixed? By begging and scraping to them, pleading for them to fix it?

Sorry, but if I need something done, I ask. If people treat me unfairly, I say something and I told them exactly what they can do with their site and their attitudes.

I’ve worked in customer service before and I made the mistake of giving someone the kind of attitude they gave me and I was /fired/ for doing so. It is bad customer service. So I can get fired from a paying job for that but if you’re a volunteer forum admin, how does that make it acceptable?

  2. LOL, are you for real? Did you even read the terms of service for the forum, before complaining about why they deleted a post? Maybe if you did, you would have come across this post, which would explain it, plain and simple!

(FYI it only took me less than 5 minutes to find this information on their site.)

In the future, it might be prudent to actually have a valid argument against their message board, rather than base it purely on your clouded perception of the events. Also, having found the thread you posted in, I’m not sure how either of those 3 people were remotely bullying you in any sort of fashion, but rather pointing out the lack of clarity in your posts as well as your irrational behaviour to jump to conclusions (as exemplified here as well on your site) without getting all the facts first. The only nasty person I can find is YOU, for accusing other individuals of malice, insulting all Torontonians, and the users of the digitalhome.ca message board without just cause.

  3. In response to TheLOLinator & his rudeness, this is just another shining example of how rude & nasty these people are. He didn’t prove me wrong about anything other than I didn’t know I couldn’t ask a simple “why was the post deleted” question.

Maybe had they been nicer about deleting that one post, I would have been okay with it, but I was warned as if I had committed a capital offense.

As for the other thread(s) where the people on there were nasty, LOL, as you can see, their attitude is still the same.

Glad someone else who was treated like garbage has spoken up.

  4. I have to laugh at this, but it’s really very sad how nasty this forum is.

Turns out “Hugh”, the owner of the forum goes around giving infractions to people (me) if I quote what the other person in the thread said.

Instead of him just asking nicely that I cut only the lines I’m referencing, the gestapo police has to LAY DOWN THE LAW.

“You have received an infraction for the following post because you have broken a serious rule on the forum.”

Yes, it’s VERY serious. So serious, I should probably go to jail for doing this.

“Please read the reason for your infraction below along with the moderators message.
    ———
    Infraction: Forum Rule Violation

Please stop the massive overquoting. Its of no value and simply makes a thread more difficult to read. There is no reason to quote an image.
    ——-

To avoid receiving an additional infraction, do not respond to this infraction until you have read this thread.

This infraction/warning is worth 3 point(s). Anyone accumulating more than 10 infraction points may have their access restricted until the infraction expires.”
    ————————–
While I agree maybe I didn’t have to quote the image, being treated in this manner is like I’m a little child & he’s THE ALMIGHTY KING. This once again proves to me how nasty this forum is.

And to issue 3 infraction points just for quoting the other person’s entire post is amazing.LOL

How is it confusing to read? If you don’t want to read the quote, one doesn’t have to. I have no problem following things & in fact for me it makes perfect sense because then I can read the story & not sit there guessing what the person is talking about.

I belong to TONS & I mean TONS of forums online, many of them for 5-6 years, & I can count on less than one hand how many forums I have problems with & so far Digitalhome.ca is the worst.

I’ve also come to the shocking conclusion that Canadians are very very mean people online. I don’t know if they are just not very intelligent when it comes to how the Internet works (Canadian consumers & Canadian business people are the worst when it comes to understanding & utilizing the Internet properly. The UK & AU rank higher.) or it’s just because they are just very unhappy people & they have to take it out on others by creating forums or becoming moderators so they can sit on their high horses & control others.

I didn’t make the Canadian connection 100% until about 2 weeks ago when I was asking some very basic innocent questions on a specific type of forum & was RUDELY told by several Canadians to STOP asking the same nauseating questions everyone else has asked, & go RESEARCH the information myself.

Umm, that’s what asking questions… RESEARCHING.

And how is a newcomer supposed to know that every single one of my questions had already been answered?

When I went to search, they hadn’t been answered already.

Anyone who knows how forums & Yahoo Groups work, it’s very hard to search questions & then have to weed through thousands of similar & non similar questions that may or may not answer your question.

After talking to a few Americans, they are also starting to realize that the nasty ones on that forum or in the associated Yahoo group are Canadian, NOT American or European.

    Unbelievable.
