I find (at least in the Toronto area), that a lot of people like to complain, but never to the person that really matters – the manager or business owner.

Being an entrepreneur now for the last 20 years, I know I’m never going to make everyone happy, & some people just like to complain for no reason at all, or because they have nothing better to do with their time, or they lie just to get something from the company, BUT, the majority of consumer complaints are legit.

I look at it this way, if you don’t tell me what the problem is (in a nice way that is), how can I fix it?

I know that consumers think the boss knows everything, but really we don’t, so I feel it’s my duty as a consumer to tell the company what the problem is. Then afterwards if I feel I’m being ignored, laughed at or they are just pacifying me, then I start to get upset & I make my way to the top.

If after going to the top I still feel like nothing is about to change, or they just don’t care, THEN I post them on my blog.

If the company is really small, chances are they don’t care at all, at least that is my experience because there’s no one to give them a knock over the head if a consumer complains.
