While I’m not going to say 100% this is a very negative company to deal with, I felt that others should be aware of what we found out & how I was treated.
I guess I was on Justtechjobs.com mailing list, so I got a notice that for this month (August 2008), they are having a special, 50% off.
I called Kathy & wanted to find out what the regular prices were because being such a small company, we can’t budget out more than $100-200. I said if it’s something like $300-400, that is over our budget.
She said it was, didn’t sound like she cared about trying to get me to be a client, & we parted.
At some point after I asked her to take me off their mailing list, she stated that to place 2 jobs, it’s $199 & that is within our budget, so I am still at a loss as to why she didn’t just tell me that on the phone.
I had my assistant investigate them & he said nowhere on their site does it state how much the 2 jobs are at regular price, so, I e-mailed Kathy again & asked her how much they are regular price, how big is their database of IT people, are they only employees, or are they also indendepent contractors.
She wrote me back answering a question I never asked (something about being able to search their database of resumes is no longer active). I said, I have no idea where you got the idea that I was asking that question & you didn’t answer any of my questions, so please do.
The response I got back left me feeling that this Kathy has attitude, & doesn’t care about her clients.
She responded to my 3 questions, but didn’t use my name, nor did she apologize for her screwup. She said “2 job postings are $558.”
So, I asked my assistant to find me someone else to deal with at the company, & he writes me back saying there isn’t anyone else.
Anything to do with justtechjobs.com is associated with Kathy McBain. She is the only one who answers the phone, & I’m not going to give her $200 if this is how I’m treated.
In addition to what my assistant said, he said their prices are all screwy & here’s what he wrote…

So now she’s saying it’s 279 per post? Just the other day it was 199 for 2 posts??
Just on July 10th I see a blog post somewhere that states this, which says regular price is 199:

So they obviously JUST raised their prices? What a scummy company.
Why in the WORLD would she tell you 2 job posts are 558, when there’s a deal that you could post unlimited jobs until the end of August for only 499?
